Description

Teens 14 to `17 years old from the organization, Baltimore Youth Arts, attended a dye workshop at our Neighborhood Fiber Co. Studio in March 2019 and learned the ancient Japanese dyeing technique of Shibori - the art of resist dyeing fabrics, producing patterns through twisting and tying the fabric. Their duel aim was to gain a new artisan skill, as well as create a product that could be sold to aid their organization, and thereby themselves. These are the scarves they dyed. All proceeds from the sale of the scarves go directly to Baltimore Youth Arts.
