Discover the colors and dyes that can come from your local grocery store and kitchen. This workshop will utilize a variety of foods and spices to create natural dyes. Some examples include Black Beans, Red Cabbage, Pomegranate, Annatto Seed, Turmeric and more. Dyers will help create natural dye vats as well as using two different mordants to further modify colors.
Cost includes all dye materials needed, 3 skeins of 100% superwash merino yarn (variety subject to availability) and one 60g test skein. Additional skeins will be available for purchase prior to class due to the pre-mordanting process. Class size is limited to 6 participants.
This is a 3 hour class from 10:30am- 1:30pm held on Saturday September 6th.
